Ella York #8

Ella joined her first rec soccer team at the age of four, and has had a ball at her feet ever since. A newcomer to Sting Black ECNL 08 this year, she spent previous seasons with the Dallas Texans 08 ECNL team.

Ella is a dynamic and creative player with a high soccer IQ. She plays primarily as an attacking midfielder and forward. Ella is dangerous in and around the penalty box, and uses both feet well to make passes, create assists and score goals. Ella thinks and plays quickly, and thrives when given the opportunity to improvise and play creatively. She can also play in a straightforward way - using her speed to beat opponents, vision to find space, and physicality to pressure defenders.

Ella attends Lovejoy High School where she is a two-sport athlete. She has started every match for the Lovejoy Girls Varsity Soccer team since she joined her freshman year. Ella was named Offensive MVP as a freshman, finished her sophomore season with 17 goals and 15 assists, and was awarded 1st Team All District both seasons. When she’s not playing soccer, Ella runs for the celebrated Lovejoy Cross Country team. Outside of athletics, Ella takes Advanced classes, has a 3.6 GPA, and volunteers at All Community Outreach in Allen, Texas.

Ella loves being part of a team. She knows how to train hard and show up for competition, but she also loves to have fun and connect with teammates. Ella enjoys spending time with family and friends, and beating her older brother at FIFA when he’s home from college.
