Kyleigh Ward #24

Kyleigh is a newcomer to Sting Black 08 ECNL, having recently played for 3 years with DKSC 08 ECNL in the role of captain. Soccer life is not new to Kyleigh. She started her soccer journey at the age of 3 with the Dallas Kicks and evolved into a three-sport athlete. She has participated in AAU track since the age of 5 and made it to the National Jr Olympics several times in the 100-meter dash and shot put. She began playing basketball at the age of 8 and participated in AAU basketball until the age of 14. She has played in multiple national basketball tournaments around the country. In her freshman year of high school, Kyleigh took the unique opportunity to play varsity basketball with her older sister, who now plays collegiate basketball, instead of playing high school soccer. As a freshman, Kyleigh lettered in varsity basketball and helped her team make it to the playoffs with her defensive skills. She received District 8-5A Academic All-District and Honorable Mention. She also lettered in varsity track, where she ran in the 4x100 and 4x200 meter relays and the 200-meter dash. Kyleigh and her 4x100 meter relay team qualified for the Texas Relays. This year in her first year of high school soccer, she received District 8-5A1st Team All-District and the 2024 TGCA All-State Team. Kyleigh takes all advanced placement (AP) courses and maintains a 4.1 weighted GPA.  She is a member of the National Junior Honor Society. 

Her coaches describe her as a powerful forward that holds the ball up well using her strength. Kyleigh is capable of running in behind using her speed to stretch any opposition's back line. Kyleigh is a finisher who also takes great pride in assisting her teammates when the time is right. Kyleigh is passionate about the game and a team player. When not studying or participating in soccer or track, Kyleigh enjoys dancing, joking around, singing, and spending time with family and friends. She has a big personality and you will often see her smiling and laughing.
